I was disappointed in the size of the can as I use it for outdoor plants. It doesn't matter now because I love its functionality. It is made of plastic and has a removable shower head for softly watering plants or for removal to water directly from the spout. It's a gem.

I've waited for years for these to become available again after hearing my neighbor rave about his. What I love about it is 1) It has a large opening on top you can put a hose wand nozzle in. Most watering cans have the handle above the opening which blocks access. 2) The handles balance the weight well although it is pretty heavy even without water in it. The plastic ones are probably lighter but I had heard that the metal ones last longer. 3) It holds a lot of water so I don't have to fill it so often.
